Dafiti asks for a model, not a ghost mannequin.

Dafiti asks sellers to always prefer photos of a model wearing the product, and states that ghost-mannequin photos must not be used. Virtual try-on puts clothing, shoes, bags, jewelry or eyewear on a studio model against a white or grey studio background, briefed to keep the product's shape, colour, material, logos and details.

Worth knowing

What Dafiti's seller guide says about photos.

  1. 1

A model preferred, hollow shapes ruled out

Dafiti's reason for preferring a model is that the shopper sees how the product sits on the body. The same guide states that ghost-mannequin photos must not be used. Herofab's Ghost mannequin, which produces the hollow-body shape, is therefore not suited to Dafiti listings; the Herofab tool for this marketplace is Virtual try-on.

  2. 2

    High resolution, neutral background

Photos on Dafiti must always be high resolution and stand on a neutral background. Studio white and studio grey are the try-on backgrounds in line with that rule, and images are delivered in 2K, or 4K as an option. The tool also offers outdoor and lifestyle backgrounds; those are scenes, not neutral grounds, and are left aside for Dafiti.

  3. 3

    Several photos, angles and detail

Dafiti notes that four to five photos, showing the product from different angles and in detail, help a great deal. One try-on order can hold the front and the back and several poses on one model, a close-up among them. An additional image showing the size chart is accepted as well; that image is the seller's own to supply.

Photographing the product before a model wears it.

  • Photograph one item, whole and straight on: a garment on a hanger or laid flat, shoes, glasses and jewelry on a plain surface. No mannequin is needed for the shoot.
  • Shoot in daylight with the flash off and hold the phone still. Dafiti asks for high resolution, and stitching or a logo the phone did not record cannot be added back faithfully.
  • Add a photo of the back and a close-up of one detail to the upload, so that the angles and the detail Dafiti recommends showing rest on photographs of the real product.
Questions

Product photos for Dafiti, answered.

May a ghost-mannequin image go into a Dafiti listing?

Dafiti's seller guide says ghost-mannequin photos must not be used, so Herofab's Ghost mannequin is not the tool for this marketplace. The hanger or flat-lay photo that would have fed it serves as the source for Virtual try-on instead, which shows the garment worn by a studio model, the kind of photo Dafiti asks sellers to prefer.

What pixel size and file type does Dafiti require?

Dafiti's seller guide gives no pixel dimensions, no file size and no file format for product photos. It asks for high resolution and a neutral background, and this page adds no figure of its own. Herofab delivers in 2K, or 4K as an option; Dafiti's official seller guide remains the reference for whatever it specifies.

Does a try-on image show how the product fits?

It shows the product on a body, which is what Dafiti wants the shopper to see. The model is synthetic, and the fit follows the size chosen, from XS to XXL; it is not a measurement of how the garment fits a real person. Measurements belong in the size chart, which Dafiti accepts as an additional image. Compare logos, small lettering and prints with the product before publishing.

How much does it cost?
