Under the file-size limit, without cropping.
Choose a limit and drop your photos. Each one is saved as a JPG under that size: the quality is lowered first, and the pixel dimensions are reduced only when that is not enough. It runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
Choose the limit.
Limits come from each platform's own help pages, summarised in the guides (checked 24 September 2026).
Compressors by platform.
About this tool.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The file is read and processed inside your browser; nothing is sent to a server.
How does the compressor get under the limit?
It saves the photo as a JPG and searches for the highest quality that fits under the limit. If the lowest quality it allows is still too large, it reduces the pixel dimensions step by step and searches again. The photo is never cropped.
What happens to a transparent PNG?
JPG has no transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. A cut-out that must stay transparent should be kept as a PNG; this tool is not meant for it.
Does a file under the limit mean the platform accepts it?
No. The tool brings the file under the size limit and keeps the minimum pixel size where the guide states one. Background, content and the other rules are checked by the platform itself.
What happens to the photo's metadata?
Compressing writes a new file, so embedded metadata is not carried over: camera details, location and any AI-disclosure marker.
How is a megabyte counted?
As a million bytes, the stricter of the two common readings, so the file is under the limit on either count.
