A background that looks white can be a shade of grey to a marketplace. This tool reads the pixels along the edges of your photo and reports how many are exactly #FFFFFF. It runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded.

How is the background measured?
The tool reads every pixel in a band along the four edges of the photo (2% of the shorter side, at least 4 pixels) and counts those that are exactly #FFFFFF, those within 5 levels of white, and those that are exactly #F1F1F1.
Why does my white background fail?
Studio light and camera processing often leave the background at a light grey such as 245 or 250 instead of 255. JPEG compression can also shift edge pixels slightly.
