Sandals worn as a pair, with the foot showing through.
A sandal is mostly gaps: a sole, a footbed and a few straps with the foot visible between them. Herofab shows the pair on a studio model, framed from the knee down, and is briefed to keep the strap layout, the buckles and the sole as they appear in the photo.
What an open shoe leaves to check.

Strap layout
A toe post, crossover bands, a T-bar, gladiator rows or a single slide band: the pattern of straps is the design. Compare the result with the pair strap by strap, including where each one disappears into the sole, and confirm that none has merged with its neighbour.

Buckles and fastenings
A sandal closes with a pin buckle, a hook-and-loop tab or an elastic behind the heel. Herofab is briefed to keep hardware as photographed. Look for the buckle on each sandal, and see that the strap passes through it instead of ending beside it.

Footbed, sole and toes
The footbed stays visible around the foot, so its colour and a cork or rope-wrapped edge are on show. Look at the thickness of the sole from the side, flat or raised, and then at the toes: an open shoe shows them, and they belong to the image being published.
Photographing sandals off the foot.
- Set the pair on a plain floor and shoot from a three-quarter angle, high enough to see the strap pattern and low enough to see the thickness of the sole.
- Buckle the ankle straps closed and stand them up; straps left lying on the footbed hide the footbed and each other.
- Choose a floor whose colour differs from the sole, and add a close-up of beading, studs or a small buckle.
Virtual try-on for sandals, answered.
Are sandals shown on bare feet?
Sandals are shown as a pair on the model's feet, in a frame from the knee down, and an open shoe leaves the foot visible between the straps. That makes the skin, the toes and the edge of every strap part of what is looked over before publishing, alongside the product itself.
Do flat sandals and heeled sandals need different photos?
Both start from the whole pair on a plain surface. For a heeled or wedge sandal, turn one of the two to a side profile so the rise of the sole is in the picture. Herofab is briefed to keep the shape; give the heel height in the product description, since an image is not a measurement.
Can sandals be shown in a summer setting?
The background can be studio white, studio grey, outdoor, lifestyle or the seller's own image. Among the outdoor locations, seaside rocks, a wooden pier and a garden fit warm-weather footwear, and the light can stay the scene's own or be set to morning, golden hour or overcast. A studio image and an outdoor one can both be made from one source photo.
