Bags carried by a model, from one product photo.
A bag is judged by how it hangs from a shoulder or a hand, and a photo on a table cannot show that. Herofab places the bag with a studio model who carries it, and is briefed to keep its shape, colour, hardware and logo.
What an on-model bag photo has to carry.
- 1
Handle drop and strap length
The gap between the top of the bag and its handle decides whether it reads as a hand-held bag or a shoulder bag. Compare the delivered image with the real bag: the handles should be as long, and the strap as wide, as on the product.
- 2
Hardware, zips and logo
Buckles, rings, zip pulls, feet and a stamped or metal logo are the parts a buyer zooms in on. Herofab is briefed to keep them where the photo shows them; small lettering on a logo plate is the detail to read first before publishing.
- 3
Proportion against the body
A bag is carried, not worn, so its size is read against the hip, the arm and the hand. Measure the real bag and check that the image shows a mini bag as small and a tote as large; the dimensions still belong in the listing text.
Photographing a bag as the source photo.
- Stand the bag upright or hang it from a door handle, front panel facing the camera, with the handles or the strap fully inside the frame.
- Stuff a soft bag with paper so it holds its shape; a collapsed bag photographs as a flatter, smaller one.
- Remove dust bags, hang tags and anything tied to the handle, and add a close-up of the clasp or the logo if the lettering is small.
Virtual try-on for bags, answered.
Is the bag held in the hand or worn on the shoulder?
The model carries the bag; it is not treated as a garment. The seller chooses the bag category from the list in the app, so pick the one that matches the product, then check in the result that the way it is carried suits the handle and the strap of the real bag.
Can the inside or the back of the bag be shown?
One photo of the front is required, and a back photo and a detail close-up can be added. A lining or an inner pocket that no photo shows cannot be reproduced faithfully, so interior views are better taken with a camera and added to the listing as extra images.
Does a chain strap or a woven texture survive the try-on?
Herofab is briefed to keep the material, the weave and the hardware of the bag as photographed. Fine chain links, quilting lines and woven leather are dense patterns, so look at them at full size in the 2K or 4K file before the image goes on a product page.
