What Shopify themes asks for, covered.
Shopify publishes no fixed pixel size for slideshow and banner images: the section sets the shape of the image area and crops any image with a different aspect ratio. Herofab's Extend image tool widens a product photo into a banner shape with no text in the picture, which is how Shopify advises slideshow and background images to be made, because the theme may move, crop or adjust text inside an image. Square 2K output is 2,048 × 2,048 pixels, above the 512 × 512 pixels recommended as the minimum for a square brand logo, and 2K and 4K output are both below the 5,000 × 5,000 pixels Shopify's quality advice names. A file can be 20 MB at most.
No fixed banner size
Shopify sets the shape of a slideshow or banner area in the section and crops images with a different aspect ratio.
A banner without text
Extend image widens a product photo into a banner shape; text and links are added in the theme editor.
Within the upload limits
2K and 4K output are below the 5,000 × 5,000 pixels Shopify names; the maximum is 20 MB per image.
