# Womenswear on a model, from studio white to golden hour.

A womenswear range spans fitted dresses, flowing skirts and heavy knits, and each asks for a different body, pose and light. Herofab dresses a studio model in the garment and lets the seller set the size from XS to XXL, the body type and the place where the image is set.

## What womenswear images should be checked for.

1. ### Drape and length

A bias-cut skirt, a wrap dress and a chunky cardigan fall differently from the same hanger. Compare the hem length, the sleeve length and the neckline in the image with the garment, and keep the full hem in the source photo: a hem outside the frame can only be guessed.
2. ### Sizes and body types

One dress can be shown in XS and in XXL, on a slim, average, curvy or plus body. The size picked sets the fit in the image, which is a view of the style across the range and no substitute for the size chart that does the measuring.
3. ### Lace, sheer panels and prints

Lace trim, fringe and see-through fabric are the hardest edges, along with dense florals and small lettering. A print that can be matched is carried over from the photo; one that cannot is redrawn, and that is the case to look at closely.

## Photographing womenswear at home.

- Hang a dress or blouse from a hanger on a door, straps and sleeves spread, the whole length down to the hem in the picture.
- Lay skirts and knitwear flat on a bed, smooth the pleats or the rib, and photograph from directly above so the shape is not skewed.
- Tie belts and wrap fronts the way they are worn, and add a back photo for a low back, a zip or a print that continues behind.

## Virtual try-on for womenswear, answered.

**Can one dress be shown on different body types?**

Yes. Order the image again with another size or a model of another body type; slim, average, curvy and plus are available. Each image is briefed to keep the same garment, and the fit it shows comes from the size setting, not from measuring a real person.

**Which locations and light can I choose for a dress?**

Seaside rocks, a wooden pier, a city street, a Mediterranean village, a café terrace or a garden, lit by the scene's own light, morning, golden hour or overcast. Studio white and studio grey remain available for the catalogue image of the same piece.

**How do I show the back of a dress?**

Upload a back photo with the front; the two views can be ordered as one set. Back prints stay on the back, and a detail that exists only behind, such as a keyhole opening or a row of covered buttons, has to be in a photo to be copied.

**How much does it cost?**

5 credits per image, plus one credit for 4K. The cost is shown before you generate, and if a job fails the credits are returned. The 20 free credits at sign-up cover 4 images with this tool.
