# Standing poses, the reference view of a garment.

Front-on and three-quarter standing are the plainest poses in fashion imagery and the ones a buyer reads most easily. Herofab starts from any image of a model wearing the product, a seated or walking one included, and renders the same model standing, briefed to keep person, garment, background and light.

## What each standing view tells the buyer.

1. ### Front: the reference view

Standing square to the camera with arms relaxed, the model shows the garment symmetrically: neckline, shoulder width, front closure, both pockets, the full length and the hem. It is the view against which every other pose is compared, and the natural first on-model image of a listing.
2. ### Three-quarter: side seam, pocket, sleeve

Turning the body partway brings forward what the front view flattens: the side seam and the cut through the waist, the depth of a pocket, the sleeve from shoulder to cuff, the profile of a collar or a hood. It shows shape and volume where the front view shows layout.
3. ### What the turn takes away

At a three-quarter angle the far side of the front moves out of view, and a chest print or a row of buttons is seen at a slant. Pockets, buttons and prints are the details to check on a pose that turns the body away from the camera. Compare the visible half with the starting image.

## The on-model image to begin with.

- Any image of a model wearing the product can be the start, and one that shows the garment from collar to hem gives the most to work from.
- When the start is a seated or leaning image, look at which parts of the garment were covered there; they are the parts to check in the standing result.
- Start from an image in which the outfit is styled as the listing needs it, jacket open or closed, sleeves rolled or down, because the garment is briefed to stay as shown.

## Standing pose generator, answered.

**When is a three-quarter view worth adding to the front view?**

When the garment has something at the side: a shaped waist, a slanted pocket, a sleeve detail, a side stripe, a slit, or volume that a front view cannot show. For a plain tee with a centred print the front view carries nearly everything, and the three-quarter adds less.

**Can a seated or walking image be turned into a standing one?**

Yes. The tool starts from an image of a model wearing the product and renders a new pose, standing front and three-quarter among them. Parts of the garment that were covered in the starting pose have to be drawn for the standing one, so compare the hem, the lap area and the waistband with the real garment.

**Do the model and the background stay the same in a new standing pose?**

Person, garment, background and light are all briefed to stay, which lets a front and a three-quarter image sit side by side as one shoot. Look at the face, the hair and the shoes as well as the garment when comparing the two.

**How much does it cost?**

3 credits per image, plus one credit for 4K. The cost is shown before you generate, and if a job fails the credits are returned. The 20 free credits at sign-up cover 6 images with this tool.
