2,048 × 2,048 pixels usually displays best for square images; up to 5,000 × 5,000 pixels or 25 megapixels, under 20 MB.

- **Size used:** 2,048 × 2,048 px — the size Shopify says usually displays best for square images.
- **Recommended:** 2,048 × 2,048 pixels usually displays best for square product images
- **Maximum:** Up to 5,000 × 5,000 pixels, or 25 megapixels
- **File size:** Smaller than 20 MB
- **Formats:** PNG is the best file type for most product images, followed by JPEG; TIFF, BMP, GIF, SVG, HEIC and WebP are also accepted
- **Consistency:** Use one aspect ratio for all featured images so they display at the same size
