A front photo records little of this, so the tool renders it. Compare the inside colour with the real lining before publishing. 2. ### Quilted gilet or tailored waistcoat A gilet is padded, with stitched channels, a stand collar and a zip; a waistcoat is flat cloth with darts, welt pockets and a pointed hem. Check that quilting lines stayed parallel and evenly spaced, or that the points of a waistcoat are still two and symmetrical. 3. ### Zip, snaps or buttons The front closure runs the whole height of a vest. Herofab is briefed to keep buttons and hardware: count snaps or buttons against the garment, look at the zip pull and the top of the collar, and confirm that a storm flap still covers what it covers. ## Hanging a vest for the camera. - Use a hanger with broad shoulders so the armholes hang open in a clean curve; a wire hanger lets a padded gilet sag at the neck. - Close the zip to the top of the collar, or button a waistcoat fully and pull its points level, then press down any pocket flaps. - Photograph the back separately for a satin panel, a cinch buckle or a yoke seam, and take a close-up when the quilting pattern is fine. ## Ghost mannequin for vests, answered. **Is the lining shown through the armholes?** The 3D style opens the armholes and the neck, so some of the inside is visible. What appears there is rendered from the source photo, which usually shows the outside only. When the lining contrasts with the shell or carries a print, check that area on the result, or choose the flat-lay style, which keeps the garment closed. **Can a puffer gilet keep its loft?** Padding is read from the shading between the stitched channels, and the brief is to keep the shape the photo shows. Shake the gilet out before the photo and light it from the side, so each channel casts a soft shadow. A gilet flattened in a parcel is copied as a flat one. **How does a waistcoat image match the rest of a suit?** By repeating the settings.
