Check that the gathers of an elastic waist are even and that a drawcord keeps both ends and their tips. 2. ### Leg opening and inseam length The leg opening is the lower edge of the whole image, so its width and angle are noticed at once. Compare the length from crotch to hem with the garment; a short inseam and a knee-length cut must not drift towards each other. 3. ### Pockets, side stripes and liners Cargo pockets, a side stripe, a curved runner's hem or a turned cuff are briefed to stay as photographed. A built-in mesh liner sits inside and is normally not part of the outside view; on printed swim shorts, look at the pattern across the centre seam. ## Photographing shorts from above. - Lay the shorts flat with the waistband straight across the top and the legs opened slightly, so the crotch seam is not hidden. - Push pocket bags back inside, flatten cargo flaps and let the drawcord rest on the front, both ends in the picture. - Shoot from directly above with the phone parallel to the surface; an angled shot makes one leg look longer than the other. ## Ghost mannequin for shorts, answered. **Do shorts look clearer flat or as a hollow shape?** It depends on the cloth. Tailored, denim and cargo shorts gain from the 3D shape, which shows the waist opening and the leg volume. Light running or swim shorts, which have little structure, are often clearer in the flat-lay style. **Can a matching top be included in the same image?** Not in one image: the source should show one item, fully visible, without another piece overlapping it. Make the shorts and the top as separate images with the same style and backdrop, and the two sit together as a set on the page. **Is the inner liner of swim shorts shown?** The outside of the garment is what the image presents. Through the open waist only a small part of the inside is seen, and the tool renders it unless the photo shows it.
