Most of that is absent from a flat photo and is rendered by the tool. Compare the depth of the band and its inner side with the pair. 2. ### Seam lines and inserts A centre-front seam or none, a curved yoke at the back, contour seams along the thigh and stirrup or split hems at the ankle define the cut. Herofab is briefed to keep them. Check that each one runs the full length it should, and that the left and right legs mirror each other. 3. ### Stretch fabric at rest Unworn elastane is relaxed, so the legs in the source are thinner than in wear and the 3D form is an interpretation, not a fitting. Look at whether the sheen, the rib or the brushed surface of the fabric was kept, and whether an all-over print grew along with the legs. ## Laying out leggings for a clean result. - Place the pair front side up on a plain surface, waistband flat and level, with the legs in a narrow V so the inner seams do not touch. - Smooth each leg from thigh to ankle with the flat of the hand, and turn the hems so their finish, plain, split or with a stirrup, is visible. - Flip the pair for a second photo when the back has a shaped yoke, a pocket or a contrast panel, and photograph a printed pair in even light. ## Ghost mannequin for leggings, answered. **Why do leggings look so narrow in a flat photo?** Stretch fabric rests at a fraction of its worn width, so an empty pair always looks slim. That is expected and should not be corrected by pulling the fabric wide for the photo. The 3D style adds volume to the legs, while the flat-lay style keeps the resting width of the pair. **Is a flat lay enough for a pair of leggings?** Often it is. A flat lay shows length, waistband height and panel layout without any reading of how the pair fills out. The 3D shape adds an open waist and rounded legs, which helps a pair with contour seams.
