# A closer frame, from the same image.

A full-length image shows the outfit; a close-up shows what it is made of. From an existing on-model image, Herofab delivers the same model framed near, so the neckline, the collar, the fabric and the trims fill the picture.

## What a close-up puts under the lens.

1. ### Neckline, collar and shoulders

Framed near, the upper part of the garment carries the whole image. A crew neck, a V, a shirt collar with its stand, a lapel and its notch: each is now large enough for a buyer to judge. Compare its shape with the starting image and with the garment itself.
2. ### Fabric and small trims

Knit gauge, a twill line, a print, a chest logo, buttons and their thread are enlarged in a close-up. Herofab is briefed to keep them as they are. Small lettering and fine logos are the details to read first, since enlarging an image also enlarges any slip.
3. ### What leaves the frame

A close-up drops the hem, the trousers and the shoes. That is its purpose, and it means the image cannot stand alone for a garment whose length or leg shape matters. Use it next to the full-length image it was made from.

## The starting image for a close-up.

- Start from a sharp on-model image; detail that is soft at full length will not become clearer when the frame moves in.
- Pick an image in which hair, a scarf or a raised hand does not cover the collar or the chest, where the close-up will look.
- For a close-up of the product alone, without a model, the detail shot is the tool to use; this pose keeps the model in the picture.

## Close-up pose, answered.

**How is a close-up pose different from cropping the image?**

Cropping only cuts into the existing picture and loses resolution. The close-up is rendered as a new image of the same model, delivered in 2K, or 4K as an option, with the garment briefed to stay as it is in the starting image.

**Which products gain most from a close-up?**

Tops with a detail near the face: knitwear, shirts, blouses, jackets with a distinctive collar, hoodies with drawcords. For trousers, skirts and shoes the interest lies lower down, and a standing or walking pose serves them better.

**Does the model stay the same person?**

The same person, garment, background and light are briefed to stay. Look at the face and the hair next to the starting image when both will appear on one product page, and at any print or logo on the chest.

**How much does it cost?**

3 credits per image, plus one credit for 4K. The cost is shown before you generate, and if a job fails the credits are returned. The 20 free credits at sign-up cover 6 images with this tool.
