# One sewn sample, shown in every cloth on offer.

A tailor or a made-to-order label sews after the order arrives, so most cloths in the book have never been made up in the style. Fabric studio takes a photo of the one sewn sample and a photo of a fabric or swatch and delivers the sample in that cloth, with the cut, the seams and the trims briefed to stay.

## What an order page owes the customer.

1. ### A style page with a list of cloths

A made-to-order page offers one style and a list of cloths: the season's suitings, a few linens, a house check. The sample is photographed once, on a hanger, laid flat or on a model, and each cloth is added as a swatch photo. The customer sees the same lapel, pocket and hem in every option and chooses between cloths, not photographs.
2. ### Pattern scale on a sample size

A check or a stripe is set at the scale it has on the swatch photo, or made smaller or larger. The image shows the workshop's sample, not the customer's own measurements, so the count of stripes across a chest is an impression. Lay the real cloth over the real sample and choose the setting that comes closest to it.
3. ### Said plainly next to the image

The image is a preview of the cloth on the style, made from two photos, and the page should say so. Compare each preview with the physical swatch in daylight, for shade and for pattern size, before it goes online. Offer to send swatches where the exact shade matters, as with a wedding suit or a match to a garment the customer owns.

## The sample and the cloth photos a workshop prepares.

- Photograph the sample pressed and buttoned, whole and straight on, since the collar roll, the darts and the hem line of every preview come from this one photo.
- Shoot each cloth flat on the cutting table in even daylight, from directly above, close enough to fill the frame and far enough to hold one full repeat of the pattern.
- Take the cloth photos of one book in the same light and in the order of the book, so that the previews of a style can be compared with one another.

**Can a customer see their suit in a cloth before it is cut?**

The customer can see the workshop's sample of that style in the cloth. The preview is made from a photo of the sewn sample and a photo of the fabric; it is not a photograph of the customer's garment and does not follow the customer's measurements. Say this on the page, and keep the physical swatch as the reference for shade.

**How many cloths can be shown from one sample photo?**

Each cloth is a separate image, made from the same garment photo and its own swatch photo, so the list can grow with the swatch book. Fabric studio has a single fixed credit cost, displayed before generation and charged once the image is delivered. Review every preview on its own: a plain worsted and a bold check test different parts of the garment.

**What should a tailor look at where the pattern meets the construction?**

At the side seams, the pockets, the lapel and the sleeve head, where a cutter matches a pattern or breaks it on purpose. The construction is briefed to stay as in the sample photo and the cloth is drawn onto it. Compare those joins with how the workshop would cut the cloth, and see that buttons and contrast trims are as they are on the sample.

**How much does it cost?**

5 credits per image, plus one credit for 4K. The cost is shown before you generate, and if a job fails the credits are returned. The 20 free credits at sign-up cover 4 images with this tool.
