# On-model photos on studio white, one look for the whole catalogue.

The plain catalogue image is a model on white: nothing behind the garment and nothing competing with it. Herofab's virtual try-on dresses a studio model in the product from a phone photo and sets the figure on an evenly lit studio white, with the fabric, the buttons and the print briefed to stay.

## What studio white asks of an image.

1. ### Nothing but the garment to look at

On a white ground there is no location, no prop and no mood light to carry the picture. The outline of the garment, its colour and its details do all the work, and a slip has nowhere to hide. Small lettering, fine logos, detailed prints and the button count are the items to read before publishing.
2. ### One model, one ground, one category page

A category page puts many products side by side. A ready-made model, or one created for the brand and saved to the library, can wear every garment of a collection; the models are synthetic, not photographed people. With the same model, ground, pose and aspect ratio in each image, the eye compares garments, not photographs.
3. ### White garments on white

A white shirt or an ivory dress loses its edge against a white ground, and so does pale lace or a sheer sleeve. Studio grey is the alternative for those pieces: it gives a light garment an outline and stays as plain as white. Putting the whole pale range on grey keeps that part of the catalogue even.

## The garment photo behind a white-background image.

- Photograph one garment, whole and straight on, on a hanger or laid flat on a bed or a sofa; the surface behind it does not have to be white.
- Shoot in soft, neutral daylight; against plain white a buyer judges the colour of the garment before anything else, and a yellow lamp shifts it.
- Add a back photo when the back carries a print and a detail close-up for a small logo, so both are on record before a collection is run.

## AI model photos on a white background, answered.

**Is the white background of an on-model image pure white?**

Studio white is an evenly lit white studio ground behind the model; it is not stated as an exact white value for on-model images. Where a sales channel sets its own rule for the background of an image, compare the delivered file with that rule before publishing, as with any other requirement of that channel.

**Can an existing model photo be put on white instead?**

Yes, with the background remover, which takes any on-model image and returns it on white, on grey or transparent. Its hardest edges are fine hair, fringes, lace and see-through fabric, so look at those on the delivered image. For a garment with no on-model photo yet, virtual try-on makes the image on studio white from the product photo.

**Which pose suits a white-background catalogue image?**

Standing front is the plain catalogue view: the garment is seen symmetrically from neckline to hem. A three-quarter or walking pose of the same model can follow as a second image, and several poses can be ordered together. On the poses that turn the body, pockets, buttons and prints deserve a look.

**How much does it cost?**

5 credits per image, plus one credit for 4K. The cost is shown before you generate, and if a job fails the credits are returned. The 20 free credits at sign-up cover 4 images with this tool.
